Tour overview

A catamaran does two things a single-hull yacht cannot: it sits flatter in open water and it gives you more deck to spread out on. The Anahi is a Luxury-category catamaran, with private-bathroom cabins, snorkel equipment supplied on board and every landing led by a certified naturalist guide working in English and Spanish.

The short route is a classic eastern loop. Tijeretas Hill above San Cristobal. Suarez Point on Española, where waved albatrosses nest and the blowhole fires spray over the cliff. Devil’s Crown, one of the best snorkelling sites in the archipelago. Post Office Bay and its wooden mail barrel, still working after two centuries.

Eight programmes sail on the Anahi: 4, 5, two 8-day routes, 11, 12 and two 15-day circuits reaching Fernandina and western Isabela. The 4-day itinerary is shown below; ask us for the day-by-day of any other length.

Booking with a local Ecuadorian operator matters on this boat in particular, because your Galapagos flights and your cruise have to be issued together to avoid an operator penalty. We handle both.

Itinerary

Day 1 · Tuesday: San Cristobal: Interpretation Centre and Tijeretas Hill

Transfer from San Cristobal airport to the catamaran, then the Interpretation Centre for the natural and human history of the islands, followed by the climb to Tijeretas Hill and its frigatebird colony.
Day 2 · Wednesday: Española: Suarez Point and Gardner Bay

Suarez Point for waved albatrosses, blue-footed boobies, marine iguanas and the blowhole, then the wide white beach and sea lion colony of Gardner Bay.
Day 3 · Thursday: Floreana: Cormorant Point, Devil's Crown, Post Office Bay and Asilo de la Paz

Flamingo lagoon and green-sand beach at Cormorant Point, snorkelling at the sunken crater of Devil's Crown, the historic mail barrel at Post Office Bay and the highland spring at Asilo de la Paz.
Day 4 · Friday: Santa Cruz: Charles Darwin Station and departure

The Charles Darwin Research Station and its giant tortoise breeding programme, then transfer to Baltra airport.

Do I have to buy my Galapagos flights with you?

Yes. The Anahi operator requires the Galapagos flight tickets to be issued through Ecosportour. If they are bought elsewhere the yacht operator charges a penalty of US$70 per person, billed directly to you.
Is snorkel gear provided?

Snorkel equipment is included on board. Wetsuits are not, so bring your own if you feel the cold in the water.
Which fees do I pay on top of the cruise rate?

The Galapagos National Park entrance fee of US$200 and the Transit Control Card of US$20 per person, which is subject to change. The 8-day B1 itinerary also carries an Isabela docking fee of US$15 per person.
Is there a discount for children?

Yes, 20% for children under 12 years old.
What does a single traveller pay?

Sole use of a cabin carries a 50% single supplement, one of the lowest among the boats we work with.
Are drinks included?

Purified water, tea and coffee are unlimited and included. Alcoholic drinks and sodas are sold at the bar on board.
